Summary
The Senior Engineer, Test & Automation supports the testing and validation of products and services provided by the company. This role serves as a technical expert on product validation and leads projects of high technical complexity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in schematic design, test plan and cases development, and ability to rapid prototype functional test setups to validate products and processes.
Essential Functions
* Prepare test reports and communicate test results to engineering and other stakeholders.
* Interpret and develop test documentation: customer-specific, technical performance, safety, agency, reliability, and manufacturability.
* Develop and maintain specialized systems and equipment to record test data with LabVIEW programs and the other internal servers.
* Conduct detailed analysis, simulations, and testing to validate designs.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, quality, and procurement to ensure project success.
* Prepare, communicate and monitor major technical project plans.
* Prepare and present technical reports and documentation.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., IPC, UL, CE).
* Mentor and guide junior engineers in their professional development.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and software issues with test systems.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Functional understanding of electronics and control systems.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and PCB layouts.
* Familiarity with CAD software and in-circuit design tools (e.g., Altium, Eagle, Solidworks) recommended.
* Ability to generate product and hardware test plans.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and lead technical teams.
* Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Ability to interpret and apply industry standards and regulations.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build working relationships with team members and stakeholders.

Work Environment
* Office setting with occasional visits to customer sites and testing facilities.
* Safe work environment with minimal exposure to hazards.
* Standard office hours with occasional overtime or weekend work for project deadlines.
Physical Demands
The role requires the ability to regularly sit, stand, and walk. The individual may occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Good vision is necessary for computer work and detailed design tasks, and dexterity is needed for typing and handling engineering materials. Additionally, there may be occasional movement and setup of testing equipment and prototypes.

Education & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in electronics engineering.
* Knowledge of industry test standards is highly desirable.
* Experience in a laboratory or testing-related environment is highly desirable.
* Project management experience preferred.
