About Atlas Atlas is a trusted leader in environmental and infrastructure consulting services; we provide services that enable communities to flourish and thrive With a team of 3500 employees and offices throughout the US we combine local expertise and a network of relationships to deliver solutions to both public and private clients Our services help improve the quality of life in the communities where we live and work We always aim for smart safe and sustainable results At Atlas we understand that our future is everyones responsibility and we create a better experience at every stage of a project We are looking for a Senior Transportation Engineer to lead construction management quality assurance quality control QAQC and overall project delivery This role can be based in San Antonio Austin or Dallas Job responsibilities include but are not limited to Project Leadership Oversee construction management QAQC and team development Ensure compliance with plans and specifications Approve change orders invoices payment applications and provide technical advice Business Development & Client Management Develop relationships with public clients and execute CEI business strategies Maintain professional ethical conduct and deliver on client expectations Team & Resource Management Lead coordinate and schedule work of field staff Manage resources effectively for CEI projects Technical Expertise Conduct engineering calculations and review material sampling testing Provide technical assistance mentoring and problem solving for staff Use automated design and engineering systems Coordinate with clients contractors and consultants to address designs and construction issues Additional Responsibilities Prepare project proposals and assist with invoicing Collect engineering data at project sites Ensure successful project delivery for TxDOT Performs other job duties as assigned The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in CEI project delivery strong leadership skills and the ability to develop and implement business strategies in collaboration with state and local leaders Minimum requirements Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited college university or engineering school approved by TBPETexas PE License Required Valid Class C Texas Drivers License Minimum of 10 years of experience with transportation engineering construction material testing andor project management
Project Management Experience working directly with TxDOT or other Local Agencies with a focus on construction management of transportation projects
Technical requirements Proficient in performing constructability reviews and managing construction claims on transportation projects
Knowledge of State and local government standards and specifications
Well versed in Microsoft Office Site Manager or other construction tracking software
Technical report writing
Other miscellaneous qualities Ability to travel 25 of the time Drive to and from job sites
Communicate effectively
Maintain effective working relationships with others
Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records files and reports
