Assistant Civil Project Manager
Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Civil Project Manager to join our Land Development Civil Engineering team.
Responsibilities- Use good time‑management methods and habits to meet schedule requirements.
- Apply developed organizational skills to deliver projects efficiently and thoroughly.
- Effectively use current computer‑aided design and production software to maximize project delivery efficiency.
- Takes a proactive role to enhance the professional development of assigned personnel.
- Create and maintain a positive environment and team approach for all assignments.
- Actively perform other tasks as assigned or individually identified, to benefit overall company efficiency and work environment.
- Protect the well‑being of the client and the company at all times.
- Effectively utilize and implement the Company’s QA/QC policy.
- Proficiently review project contracts and coordinate with the Principal in Charge for execution.
- Successfully manage and design numerous civil engineering projects of medium to high complexity.
- Perform all project billing, collections, and job cost analysis to maximize project profitability while maintaining quality of deliverables.
- Begin to assume a role in marketing of existing clients.
- Perform manpower projections and staffing management for multiple tasks or projects.
- Maintain multiple project deadline schedules for allocation of resources.
- Maintain effective communications with multiple design teams, other design consultants, internal survey department (regarding schedules, deliverables, and billings), and other appropriate parties, both verbal and written.
- Serve as a technical expert in a defined area.
- Assign and oversee project assignments;
- Review work for accuracy and completeness;
- Promote professional development;
- Maintain job satisfaction and morale;
- Assist with performance evaluations; and
- Recommend compensation adjustments and/or promotions.
- Demonstrate competence in fundamental civil engineering design principles with a designated area of practice; cost estimating; bid phase assistance; construction administration and general construction methods.
- Demonstrate proficiency with current computer‑aided design and production software and ability to learn new versions or new technology.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Land Development Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the respective state or ability to obtain one within 6‑12 months.
- Graduate from an accredited university or college with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (experience or degrees in other disciplines may be substituted at Management's discretion).
