Job SummaryWe are seeking a versatile and tech-forward BIM Engineer to join our innovative team in San Antonio. This role is designed for an engineering professional who wants to move beyond traditional “siloed” design and work at the intersection of civil and structural engineering, digital modeling, and robotic fabrication. You will be responsible for ensuring that civil and structural designs are perfectly translated into data-rich BIM models ready for our AI-driven production line.
Key Responsibilities BIM Engineering & Digital Design- Develop and manage high-precision 2D and 3D models using specialized software, including Tekla Structures and other BIM-related tools.
- Apply engineering principles to ensure structural integrity and optimization of steel elements for manufacturing and assembly.
- Maintain digital data accuracy within models to facilitate seamless integration with our robotic and AI fabrication systems.
- Participate in diverse project areas including basic structural analysis, supply chain coordination, and hands‑on site assessments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (legal,finance, and operations) to align engineering designs with broader business objectives and project timelines.
- Perform clash detection and coordinate between structural models and architectural/MEP schematics to ensure zero‑error fabrication.
- Incorporate Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) principles to minimize the embodied carbon footprint of every project.
- Implement our flagship Green Carbon Steel™ initiatives and meet company GHG reduction targets.
- Evaluate the environmental impact of material choices and detailing through data‑driven modeling.
- Provide accurate quantity take‑offs directly from BIM models to assist in real‑time cost estimation.
- Optimize designs for cost‑effectiveness and material efficiency without compromising safety standards.
- 3.0 GPA minimum.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D modeling software.
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- 18+ years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
- 0–2 years of AEC‑disciplined engineering.
- Familiarity with BIM processes and tools.
- Understanding of sustainable design principles and LCA methodologies.
- Experience with cost estimation tools and methodologies.
- Knowledge of GHG calculation methods and sustainability reporting.
- Experience with steel and concrete design specifications (AISC).
- Annual Salary: $45,000 – $60,000 USD (based on experience).
- Status:
Exempt. Salary compensates for all hours worked; not eligible for overtime pay. - Standard
Hours:
Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (including a one‑hour break). - Flexibility:
