IMEG is hiring a Civil Project Designer in San Antonio, TX, to lead design efforts on low to moderate complexity civil projects and support senior staff in delivering larger, high-complexity work. In this role, you will work closely with engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients, with responsibility for analysis, design, and implementation oversight of civil engineering projects.

You’ll also help manage project budgets while training, mentoring, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
** Principal Responsibilities*
* • Direct and train Civil Design Technicians in completing reports, exhibits, plans, specifications, and permit applications required by the project’s contractual scope  
• Prepare grading and stormwater designs for commercial, industrial, and residential site plans  
• Lead civil engineering design efforts and develop detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards  
• Interact with clients to gather project requirements, communicate technical information, and build strong professional relationships  
• Support project execution by leading planning, budgeting, and scheduling efforts to meet deadlines and objectives  
• Document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project progress related to percent complete and fee expended  
• Analyze engineering problems and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions  
• Provide in-process reviews of civil engineering designs, calculations, and specifications and apply IMEG quality control processes  
• Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance by interpreting state and local design criteria for project needs  
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions and identify potential project issues for Project Manager review
** Required Qualifications and Skills*
* • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required  
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferred  
• 5 years of experience minimum required, 6 preferred, in the building design consulting industry OR  
• Associates degree, or certificate, in the building design consulting industry OR  
• Associates degree, or certificate, in utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent software tools or engineering preferred  
• 9 years of experience minimum required, 10 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry  
• Proficiency of industry standard engineering software and tools, primarily Civil 3D  
• Proficient with pipe networking and road corridors  
• Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications  
• Strong training and mentoring skills  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups  
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment  
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills  
• Eagerness to adapt to new challenges  
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook  
• Ability to travel up to 15% with occasional overnight stays
