Automotive Technician

Work Schedule: Onsite, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $53/hr on W2

• Provide development powertrain system support and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to hardware, software, controls, and electronic systems.
• Perform system-level troubleshooting on vehicle powertrain components.

• Follow established troubleshooting procedures and diagnostic trees where available.
• Apply engineering judgment to identify root causes when standard procedures are not available.
• Collaborate with technicians to investigate, diagnose, and resolve vehicle issues.
• Track issues with clear documentation of findings, corrective actions, and outcomes.
• Communicate investigation plans, progress, and resolutions to engineers, technicians, and customers.

• Utilize Calterm and other engineering tools to download ECM software and calibrations.
• Support vehicle validation activities, including:
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Engine condition overrides
  • Issue identification and resolution during validation testing
  • Documentation of validation results and findings

• Maintain accurate issue-tracking records and technical documentation.
• Use existing reporting processes and develop new documentation methods when needed.
• Ensure clear and timely communication across stakeholders.

• Experience troubleshooting vehicle systems.
• Background as a heavy-duty technician, service technician, service advisor, or similar role is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated technical problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
• Experience working with engines and related vehicle systems.
• Previous experience working within a corporate environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain detailed documentation and provide regular status updates.

• Familiarity with ECM software and calibration tools.
• Experience supporting vehicle validation and testing activities.
• Knowledge of powertrain, electronic control, and diagnostic systems.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
