Aircraft Electrical installation and modification
This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full‑time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.
The Executive Fleet Quality Inspector will be a part of the Boeing Defense, Space & Security team specializing in Executive Fleet aircraft located in San Antonio, Texas. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
Position Responsibilities- Performs inspections of electrical systems, electrical components, wiring, and related aircraft electrical installations to ensure compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
- Implements quality assurance and safety plans to ensure compliance with contract specifications and applicable regulations.
- Inspects all phases of a variety of goods, services, or operations for conformity to established quality, health and safety, and other operational standards by performing ongoing reviews of work for compliance with requirements.
- Ensures all services listed on the performance requirement summary are performed in a satisfactory manner.
- Specifies areas to be inspected (scheduled and unscheduled) and how often inspections will be accomplished.
- Communicates deficiencies to proper persons.
- Maintains Quality Assurance files.
- Documents results of all inspections.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience inspecting or working with aircraft electrical systems, electrical components, wiring, or related electrical installations.
- Minimum of 5 years of Aerospace Quality Inspection experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience performing product or process inspections.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience reading and interpreting aerospace engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime. Some positions may also be rotating shifts.
- Electrical inspection experience on aircraft systems, avionics, wiring, or integrated electrical components.
- Experience working with large aircraft Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) inspections.
- Experience in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or a regulated industry.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate or sufficient experience to obtain an FAA Repairman Certificate.
- Experience with Boeing 7XX airplane and/or Military aircraft.
- Experience with Executive Fleet aircraft.
- The candidate must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
- Exposure to noise, working on elevated platforms.
- Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hand, and arms as required.
- Pass visual acuity and color perception tests.
- Read, write, and comprehend the English language.
- Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous material.
- Obtain & maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities.
- Occasional finger manipulation (1 to 3 hrs).
- On occasion, a 2-person lift may be necessary for weights greater than 50 lbs.
- Frequent reaching overhead (3 to 6 hrs).
- Frequent walking on flat surfaces.
- Frequent standing flat or uneven surfaces.
- Frequent balancing on a ladder, steps, or uneven surfaces.
- Occasional climbing on 3‑12 ft ladders or stands.
- Rotation of head/neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bend/stoop, lying down, and operate foot controls for an extended period of time.
- Occasional contact with metals.
- Frequent exposure to noise.
Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement of this request.
