Are you an Engineer, Geologist, or Environmental Scientist and ready to take another step in your career? If so, consider joining Tetra Tech. We are looking for a Junior or Mid-Level Engineer, Geologist, or Environmental Scientist with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the field of environmental compliance, investigation, and corrective action serving both industrial and government clients. Field experience should include performing various types of sampling including environmental media sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and air);
monitoring well sampling and gauging; surface water gauging, storm water collection analysis and observations; subcontractor supervision and direction; and RCRA, CWA, EPCRA experience is a plus. Position has the potential to lead to deputy project manager opportunities.
- Collect, analyze, and develop reports in support of environmental programs for federal, state, and local clients.
- Support United States Air Force Environmental Programs such as RCRA, EPCRA, TRI, NPDES, MS4, POL/Tanks and SPCCC/FRP.
- Permit development, interpretation, and implementation for environmental programs.
- Technical writing, data analysis, project coordination, oversight of field teams, organization of field teams and scheduling.
- Hands‑on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Data review, option evaluation, and recommendation of best results.
- Client interaction and presentation of options and results.
- Production of deliverables.
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
- Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.
- Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
- Additional duties as required.
- Technical report writing, data analysis and field work are regular requirements associated with this position. Periodically there are requirements to present project findings to a client and relevant stakeholders.
- 40‑Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training current; 8‑hour refresher training is preferred. Other OSHA training is desirable.
- Have the educational background to be able to obtain a professional license/registration such as an EIT, GIT, PE, PG or PMP. Currently possessing a professional license/registration would be a plus.
- Be able to pass background screening requirements including criminal history, motor vehicle check, drug testing, etc.
- Have successful past performance directing and supervising subcontractors.
- Have strong technical, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Candidate must have a valid driver's license.
- Candidate must be able to acquire access to federal facilities via obtaining a Common Access Card within 6 months of hire and maintain the access card/access to federal facility.
To be considered for this position, a bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a civil or environmental engineering, geosciences, environmental science, or related technical discipline is required. An advanced degree is a plus.
- The successful candidate should have 3 to 6 years of relevant experience with prior environmental compliance experience, experience with geologic, engineering, and scientific data interpretation on environmental projects including investigation, reporting, and permitting.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed, approximately 10‑20 %.
