Position Overview

Experienced General Mechanic – B‑52 (2400) – Boeing Aerospace Operations, Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS), San Antonio, TX. Join our Executive Fleet team to support B‑52 aircraft maintenance.

• Perform flight controls installation, removal and rigging.
• Perform landing gear servicing of aircraft.
• Execute component change outs (e.g., servo pumps, filters, engine components).
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications and retrofit requirements to perform structural modifications and repairs.
• Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy requests.
• Maintain required certifications, licenses and permits for assigned work.
• Prioritize workload to meet project schedules.
• Use hazardous energy and lock‑out/tag systems to ensure a safe work environment.
• Operate all equipment in accordance with established safety and operating procedures.
• Assist other team members (Avionics, Structures, Electrics) to meet cost/schedule targets.
• Diagnose and correct malfunctions occurring in assembly processes.
• Use precision measuring instruments, gauges, and tools to check dimensions and conformance to quality requirements.
• Ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35pounds.

• 10+ years of Depot Level/Heavy General maintenance experience.
• 10+ years of experience with various aircraft exterior and interior systems, including hydraulic, flight control, monuments, landing gears, fuel systems, and engines.
• 10+ years of experience working with blueprints, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures.
• 10+ years of experience accessing computer aircraft data systems.
• Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime.

• Experience performing aircraft engine runs and engine borescope inspections.
• Ability to operate an aircraft tug/tow vehicle, forklift, mobile crane and riding type electric powered elevating equipment.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required) and an interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance post‑start.

Summary Pay Rate: $78,000 / $37.50 per hour. Additive Pay: $1.00 per hour for Airframe Certification, $1.00 per hour for Powerplant Certification.
