PositionToyoda Gosei Texas (located in San Antonio, TX) has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer in the Interior/Exterior Engineering department. The Manufacturing Engineer functions with a high degree of autonomy, and is responsible for the design, development, and optimization of equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety for TG Texas and TGNA Manufacturing Companies.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Design, develop, and optimize tooling, and production equipment to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues within the production environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and quality, to improve system performance and reliability.
- Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment in alignment with production needs.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve mechanical failures and improve reliability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, enhance safety, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Ensure compliance with Toyota Production System (TPS), Lean Manufacturing, and safety regulations.
- Participate in cost reduction and efficiency improvement projects through innovative engineering solutions.
- Provide technical support and training to maintenance and production teams on new or modified equipment/processes.
- Communication: being able to communicate technical information clearly, whether in written reports, presentations, or discussions with team members or clients, is vital for success in this field.
- Project Management: managing projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating with teams, suppliers, and clients, is often part of a mechanical engineer's role.
- Hands‑on Application: practical skills in building prototypes, conducting experiments, and testing designs are valuable. Having a good understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques is beneficial.
- Utilize CAD software (Solid Works, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or similar) to develop detailed mechanical designs (Nest, fixtures,)
- Drive optimization by being actively engaged in continuous improvement efforts (kaizen)
- Experience in assembly area with processes that involve the construction of the parts.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent years of experience is required
- 1 to 4 years of experience in an engineering role is required
- Familiar with Toyota Production Systems (TPS), Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is preferred
- Experience working with automatic screwdriving and clip assembly process, heat stake and ultrasonic welding.

- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suites 2016 or newer is required
- Familiar with CNC machinery (Haas)
- Familiar with CAD software (Fusion 360, Solid Works, AutoCAD or similar)
- Vision Systems:
Cognex, Keyence and Teledyne Dalsa
- Plant environment
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines is required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Effective verbal, non-verbal, negotiation and written communication skills are required
- Ability to sustain a high degree of professionalism in interacting with internal and external customers is required
- Effective attention to detail, problem solving, analytical and organizational skills are required
- Strong organizational skills, analytical thinking skills, problem solving and project scheduling skills is required
