Civil Engineer Opportunity
Our client is a husband and wife owned Civil Engineering firm in San Antonio, Texas. They're expanding their team and looking for a highly motivated Civil Engineer.
This role will be responsible for a variety of infrastructure-related expertise including roadway centerline alignments, roadway profiles, retaining wall geometrics, driveway/intersection geometrics, cross-section development, cut/fill calculations, parking lot design, storm drain system design, culvert design, ditch design, and hike and bike design. Key Responsibilities:- Develop civil engineering designs, including plans for grading, utilities, paving, profiles, and cross-sections.
- Create engineering plans using AutoCAD C3D.
- Perform construction quantity estimates.
- Cross-train in various civil engineering disciplines, such as pavement, grading, drainage, water, traffic control, and stormwater pollution prevention.
- Coordinate plans, calculations, and specifications with multi-discipline engineering teams and subconsultants.
- Ensure that all designs, plans, and calculations are accurate and complete.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles related to design, construction, and public works maintenance.
- Knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and materials used in surface and underground projects.
- Familiarity with floodplain regulations related to property development.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD C3D, Bentley Open Roads Designer (Micro Station/GEOPAK), and ArcGIS.
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications and apply local, state, and federal regulations in design and construction.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to make independent decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to present technical information clearly and effectively.
- Skilled in public speaking and capable of delivering presentations to a variety of audiences.
- Proven customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a diverse population.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public works projects.
- Experience in Floodplain Management (Certified Floodplain Manager preferred).
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
- Experience in designing and managing public works construction projects.
- Knowledge of TxDOT, federal, and local regulations.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
