Job DescriptionTower Semiconductor is seeking a Process Engineer within the Photo department to support sustaining operations, process improvements, process transfers, and development activities in our high-volume manufacturing facility located in San Antonio, TX. Our San Antonio fab is a dynamic and growing manufacturing site dedicated to delivering specialty electronic devices for a diverse range of applications, distinguished by exceptional quality, competitive cost structures, and superior cycle times.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with strong technical and analytical capabilities, coupled with a practical, hands-on approach to solving complex engineering challenges.
This Job Is For You If- Take ownership of assigned processes and establish direction for improvements, sustaining, and overall operations
- Work closely with process and integration engineers to improve process metrics (SPC, yield, para metrics, defects) and achieve first-pass success of technology transfers
- Take ownership of selection and qualification of semiconductor processing tools
- Monitor fab metrics with statistical process control (SPC)
- Provide root cause investigation of discrepant material and implement yield and defect improvement projects
- Write operating specifications and provide technical training to wafer fab personnel
- Work with equipment engineering to improve uptime and tool utilization
- Troubleshoot process and tool excursions
- Identify cost savings opportunities and drive projects to reduce overall costs
- Implement advanced process control to improve Cpk at critical levels
- Ensure matching of newly installed equipment to support production ramp
- Develop new semiconductor manufacturing processes using design of experiments (DOE)
- Recent Ph.D. graduate, preferably in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Materials Science preferred
- MS Degree with minimum 5 years of hands on semiconductor experience
- Highly desirable coursework includes semiconductor processing technology, device physics, and statistics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Candidate must be able to communicate with audiences at any technical level
Must be a self-starter dependable and highly motivated - Ability to work and communicate with equipment engineering to improve the area
- Strong problem solving and data analysis skills
