Core Responsibilities
- Lead the comprehensive mechanical design for diverse building projects, ensuring all systems are technically superior and code-compliant.
- Coordinate seamlessly with internal architectural teams and external consultants to deliver fully integrated, high-performance building solutions.
- Steer the mechanical design budget and schedule, providing the Project Manager with the technical roadmap necessary for on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Serve as a primary mentor to junior staff, accelerating their professional development through hands-on guidance and technical oversight.
- Direct rigorous QA/QC reviews to ensure every design package meets the highest industry standards before submittal.
- Contribute to the firm's evolution by participating in staffing plans, interviewing top-tier talent, and delivering specialized training sessions.
- Oversee the mechanical scope from the drafting of construction documents through to site visits, ensuring design intent is realized in the field.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Active Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the U.S.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, specifically focused on HVAC system design for buildings.
- Proven track record in Healthcare, Education, Commercial, or Federal project environments.
- Ability to access all areas of a job site (including ladders) and carry up to 50 lbs of project documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to obtain licensure in additional states via NCEES record.
- Deep experience with energy modeling and sustainable design initiatives (LEED/Well).
- Previous experience managing small-to-midsized engineering teams or acting as a Lead Engineer on multi-million dollar contracts.
