OEM Vehicle Validation & Issue Troubleshooting Specialist
Location:
San Antonio, TX
Schedule:
Onsite | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Summary
We are seeking an OEM Vehicle Validation & Issue Troubleshooting Specialist to support vehicle development, validation, and issue resolution activities. This role will work closely with engineers, technicians, and customers to diagnose and resolve vehicle and powertrain-related issues while supporting validation efforts and maintaining clear documentation of findings and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide support for development powertrain systems, including hardware, software, controls, and electronic systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues using established troubleshooting procedures and engineering judgment.
- Work closely with technicians to investigate, test, and resolve technical concerns.
- Document troubleshooting activities, findings, corrective actions, and outcomes.
Validation Support
- Support vehicle validation activities by collecting and analyzing data.
- Utilize Calterm and other engineering tools to download ECM software and calibrations with support from the Columbus engineering team.
- Override engine operating conditions as needed to support validation testing.
- Identify, document, and communicate issues discovered during validation activities.
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain accurate issue tracking and validation records.
- Communicate technical findings, action plans, and resolutions with engineers, technicians, and customers.
- Utilize existing documentation processes and develop new communication or tracking methods when required.
- Effectively prioritize workload while ensuring timely updates to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Experience troubleshooting vehicle systems and resolving technical issues.
- Strong technical problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working with engines and powertrain systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining thorough documentation and communication.
- Experience working within a corporate or structured business environment.
Preferred Background
- Heavy-duty diesel technician experience.
- Service Advisor or Service Writer experience.
- Experience supporting vehicle validation, testing, or development programs.
- Familiarity with ECM software, calibrations, and diagnostic tools such as Calterm.
