Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Production Engineering – Product Review/Liaison Engineer

Location:

San Antonio, TX – supporting the Executive Transportation Fleet. The role requires proactive high‑level decision making, hands‑on factory engineering, and excellent communication and collaboration skills. The engineer will be assigned to a first or second shift on a 4x10 schedule that includes one weekend day and will perform work in a factory environment that involves stairs, trip hazards, high noise, chemical hazards, and exposure to aircraft during build stages.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assess and resolve product/process issues through the product lifecycle.
  • Apply engineering principles to research technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer and design interim and final engineering solutions.
  • Analyze, conduct root cause analysis, and develop dispositions for design non‑conformances.
  • Identify documents, analyze reported problems, and communicate deviations that could impact design intent and safety; recommend and manage resolution.
  • Develop and implement product/process improvements.
  • Design interim structural repairs and conduct static strength analysis; develop non‑destructive test procedures, tools, and standards.
  • Support Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participate in design reviews.
  • Represent the engineering community in the build through post‑production environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience.
  • Material Review Board certification experience or similar liaison engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (for experienced – Level
    3).
  • Excellent cross‑functional leadership, collaborative problem‑solving, and proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • Aerospace, fabrication, manufacturing, and/or additive manufacturing experience.
  • Production engineering experience.
  • Relevant technological knowledge.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to lead others, work independently, and collaborate in a team environment.

This position does not offer relocation assistance.

Pay Range

Associate (Level
2): $85,000 - $115,000
Experienced (Level
3): $103,700 - $140,300
