JOB TITLE: 747 Aircraft Avionics Technician
LOCATION:
San Antonio, TX
PAY RATE: $35.00/hour
- Job Type: Contract (9 months with potential for extension)

- Assists with disassembly of systems components to correct failures or implement changes.
- Assists with basic troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
- Performs validation or verification testing of systems and components.
- Fabricates and modifies aerospace products according to specifications.
- Assists with safe handling of aerospace vehicle (jacketing, towing, system operations).
- Performs aircraft bench or flight line operational testing and troubleshooting in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, company, and supplier directives.
- Performs assembly, installation, check-out, operational testing and modification of wire bundles in aircraft testing, development and modification.
- Interprets standard work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, wire diagrams, formulas, sketches, verbal and electronic orders, and job layouts.
- Diagnoses and corrects malfunctions in assembly processes using precision measuring instruments, gauges, and tools.
- Applies knowledge of aircraft avionics systems including Comm Nav, Data Links, Weapons, Radar, and Electronic Warfare.
- Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
- Experience with 747 platforms.
- Experience with Aircraft Avionics Systems such as Comm Nav, Data Links, Weapons, Radar, Electronic Warfare.
- 3+ years of experience in applied mathematics, statistics or related field.
- 4+ years working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures.
- 3+ years of experience with aircraft computer systems and basic office software.
- Ability to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
- Familiarity with Hazardous Energy and Lock Out or Tag systems applications for safe working environment.
- High school diploma or GED and typically 4+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) to comply with ITAR regulations.
