North San Antonio Area – Onsite 5 days a week
Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team responsible for designing and developing advanced embedded electronic hardware. This role offers the opportunity to work throughout the entire product development lifecycle, contributing from initial concept and schematic design through manufacturing support and product enhancements.
The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex hardware design challenges, collaborating across engineering disciplines, and developing reliable, high-performance electronic products used in demanding commercial and enterprise environments.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience designing embedded electronic hardware or digital systems.
- Strong understanding of digital electronics, processors, embedded computing platforms, and PCB design.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout software.
- Experience using electronic test equipment for functional testing and hardware validation.
- Ability to interpret electronic schematics, timing diagrams, and digital logic.
- Strong understanding of high-speed digital design and signal integrity principles.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Experience with Altium Designer or similar PCB design software.
- Experience designing products for regulated or compliance-driven industries.
- Familiarity with FCC, CE, EMC, or EMI design standards.
- Experience with signal integrity analysis, power integrity, simulation, or hardware modeling.
- Power supply and power management design experience.
- Experience with Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) methodologies.
- Experience working with processor architectures such as x86-64, ARM, or RISC-V.
- Experience supporting products from prototype through manufacturing and production.
- Design, develop, and validate embedded electronic hardware and printed circuit board assemblies.
- Participate in product research and development, translating business and technical requirements into innovative hardware solutions.
- Develop schematics, PCB layouts, and supporting engineering documentation using industry-standard CAD software.
- Collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineers throughout product development.
- Prepare manufacturing documentation, engineering change documentation, and production release packages.
- Develop and maintain functional specifications, design documentation, and engineering records.
- Create and support production test procedures, validation methods, and manufacturing test fixtures.
- Troubleshoot hardware designs, perform design verification, and support continuous product improvements.
