Job Description:We are seeking an experienced I&E (Instrumentation & Electrical) Consultant to support operations in the Eagleford region. This role will provide technical expertise in the design, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation and electrical systems for oil and gas production facilities. The consultant will work closely with operations teams to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities:- Provide technical consulting services for instrumentation and electrical systems across production facilities
- Review and approve electrical and instrumentation design documents, drawings, and specifications
- Troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation and electrical system issues in the field
- Conduct site assessments and inspections of electrical and instrumentation equipment
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for I&E systems
- Support commissioning and start-up activities for new equipment and systems
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize system performance
- Provide technical guidance and training to field personnel
- Prepare technical reports and documentation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in instrumentation and electrical systems in oil and gas operations
- Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (NEC, API, ISA)
- Experience with PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems, and field instrumentation
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics and P&IDs
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in field environments
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field locations as needed
5/2 Mon-Friday, on call weekend rotation
Pay:$65-$85/Hr
Additional Information:IRS rate for in-field mileage. Must furnish their own vehicle/fuel/laptop.
