Mechanical​/Electrical Engineer (Wire Harness Design

Our client, an industry leader in automotive manufacturing, is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer (Wire Harness Design) to join their team. As a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer (Wire Harness Design), you will be part of the engineering department supporting product development and manufacturing teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, proactive problem-solving, and excellent communication abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Mechanical/Electrical Engineer (Wire Harness Design)

Location:San Antonio, TX

Pay Range:$100,000 - $170,000

What's the Job?

• Design and document new cable and harness designs using Zuken and Solid Works software, ensuring seamless transition into production.
• Support manufacturing processes for cable and wire harness production, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Lead new product development initiatives for cables and wire harnesses, guiding teams through our phase gate development process.
• Conduct design analysis such as FEA and CFD, participate in design reviews, and develop validation test specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to launch new products and support existing ones, ensuring project timelines are met.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in 3D mechanical design and analysis tools, with experience in Zuken preferred and Solid Works a plus.
• Understanding and application of GD&T standards and experience with FEA analysis.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
• Knowledge of NEC, CSA Class 1, Div 2, and UL standards (preferred).
