Position: ENGINEER - RESEARCH ENGINEER - Rotating Mechanical Designer
Who We Are:

The rotating machinery section develops novel turbo machinery, components, and test rigs to support a wide variety of clients. Objectives of this Role:
Designing, fabrication, assembly, and testing of custom compressors, pumps, and turbines for advanced power cycles that meet a complex set of requirements. Ensure that machinery casings and pressure containment are safe and meet applicable ASME boiler and pressure vessel codes. Design reliable shafting and rotating components that meet required rotordynamic, stress, and thermal design constraints. Design high temperature components with advanced cooling, thermal barrier systems, and creep life to survive design life requirements.

Write reports and present technical data to clients and industry peers. Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
Model machine designs in Solid Works and developing detailed manufacturing drawings for fabrication and assembly. Analyze the mechanical performance of a machine design using applicable engineering principles and advanced analysis software such as ANSYS. Work with a team of engineers with a specialty in controls, thermal management, thermodynamics, and aerodynamics to ensure that the design meets is intended target. Present updates to clients on the status of the design to collaborate and determine whether there is a need to alter design requirements.

Present papers at applicable conferences to disseminate knowledge to the public. Requirements:
Requires a Bachelors, Masters or a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. PhD with graduate experience in machinery design and analysis is highly desired. 0-5 years:
Experience in machine design and analysis, must have an interest or academic experience in design and development of radial and axial turbo machinery Strong Communication skills, successfully in a team setting and ability to creatively solve problems as a team. Will need to operate tests outdoors, indoors, and in extreme environments at field sites. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
