Job  Position Summary PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a FAA 787 Flight line Aircraft Mechanic B to support aircraft production and flight operations in San Antonio, TX. This role works under general supervision and is responsible for final component installation, system operational and functional testing, maintenance activities, aircraft modifications, and pre-flight/post-flight inspections to ensure aircraft readiness for delivery. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with live aircraft systems and flight operations in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

Schedule & Shift Requirements Candidates must be flexible and available to work any shift (1st, 2nd and 3rd), including days, nights, weekends, and overtime as required. Shift Expectations: 1st

Shift: 5:30am - 2:00pm 2nd

Shift: 2:30pm - 11:00pm Priority 3rd

Shift: 9:00pm - 5:30am Priority Training:
Conducted on 1st or 2nd Shift Essential Responsibilities
* Perform final aircraft component installation.

* Conduct systems operational and functional testing.

* Complete aircraft rework, modifications, and maintenance activities.

* Support pre-flight and post-flight inspections for aircraft delivery.

* Inspect and document non-conforming conditions.

* Follow detailed verbal and written work instructions.

* Perform assigned tasks with a focus on quality, safety, and compliance.

* Support flight line and field operations as required.

Required Qualifications
* High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Minimum 3 months of experience working with live aircraft systems and flight operations.

* Ability to work any shift, including weekends, nights, and overtime as needed.

* Ability to understand and interpret detailed written and verbal instructions.

* Must be able to obtain and maintain required training certifications.

* Successful completion of OJT or formal classroom training is required.

* Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement of this assignment. Post-hire Assessments:
Assessments will take place on day 1 or 2 of the assignment. Contractors who do not pass the assessment will be released back to their contract house immediately and will not continue assignment. Contractors who pass will continue on to training-mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications
* FAA Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) License.

* 3+ years of related aerospace, manufacturing, fabrication, or aviation experience.

* Minimum 1 year of 787 program experience.

* Familiarity with Production System.

* Experience supporting field operations and flight line activities.

* Strong understanding of aircraft systems, maintenance, and inspection procedures.
Physical & Environmental Requirements Candidates must be able to:
* Climb and descend ladders and elevated work platforms.

* Work in confined spaces and elevated environments.

* Lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly and participate in team lifts exceeding 50 pounds when required.

* Frequently stand, walk, reach overhead, bend, squat, and balance on uneven surfaces.

* Perform occasional crawling, climbing, and repetitive finger manipulation.

* Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye, face, hand, arm, and hearing protection.

* Pass visual acuity and color perception requirements.

* Work in environments with frequent exposure to aircraft noise and manufacturing conditions.

* Handle, use, and properly dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with procedures.
Education & Experience Education and experience are typically acquired through:
* High School Diploma or GED and 1+ years of related experience; or

* Vocational training, Associate degree, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. Benefits offered to vary by the contract.
