Project Engineer – Civil Land Development
$85,000–$110,000 Base Salary + Bonus Potential
A well-established Texas civil engineering firm is looking to add a Project Engineer to its San Antonio team. This is a great opportunity for a civil engineer looking to take the next step in their career and gain hands‑on experience working on K-12, commercial, institutional, and site development projects across Central and South Texas.
You’ll work closely with experienced project managers and firm leadership while taking ownership of design work, client coordination, and project delivery. This role offers a strong path for someone who wants to continue developing technically while growing into greater project management responsibilities.
What You'll Do- Assist with the planning and design of civil site development projects from concept through construction.
- Prepare grading, drainage, utility, paving, and stormwater design plans.
- Develop engineering reports, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.
- Work closely with senior engineers and project managers on project delivery.
- Coordinate with architects, developers, municipalities, school districts, and regulatory agencies.
- Assist with permitting and navigating local development requirements.
- Review plans and technical documents for accuracy and quality.
- Communicate with clients and project stakeholders throughout the design process.
- Support project schedules, budgets, and overall project coordination.
- Have opportunities to take on increasing project management responsibilities as you grow.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of civil engineering experience, preferably in land/site development.
- Experience with K-12, commercial, institutional, municipal, or residential development is a plus.
- Strong proficiency with Civil 3D.
- Understanding of grading, drainage, utilities, paving, and stormwater design.
- Familiarity with Texas permitting processes and local development regulations.
- EIT certification preferred.
- PE license or interest in pursuing a Texas PE is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
