Senior Drilling Engineer - Offshore Operations

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Drilling Engineer to join their team in George , focusing on complex offshore operations. This critical role involves the planning, execution, and supervision of drilling campaigns, ensuring safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance. You will leverage your expertise to overcome technical challenges in challenging offshore environments, working closely with rig crews, subsurface teams, and external service providers.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of drilling operations, rig equipment, and well control procedures, contributing to the strategic goals of our energy exploration and production initiatives.

• Develop and execute detailed drilling programs and well plans, adhering to stringent safety and environmental standards.
• Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for all drilling operations.
• Provide on-site technical support and supervision during drilling phases, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Manage relationships with drilling contractors and service companies, ensuring performance and compliance.
• Optimize drilling parameters and procedures to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize non-productive time (NPT).
• Conduct post-drill analysis and prepare comprehensive reports on drilling performance and lessons learned.

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in drilling engineering, with significant offshore exposure.
• Demonstrated expertise in well planning, directional drilling, and casing/cementing operations.
• Thorough knowledge of drilling equipment, technologies, and well control principles.
• Proficiency in drilling simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Strong leadership abilities and excellent communication skills for effective collaboration in a multidisciplinary team.
