Position Type:
Full Time, Regular
The ideal candidate will have experience across all aspects of exploration geophysics, with the ability to support seismic acquisition, processing, data conditioning, seismic inversion, and the calculation of volumetric seismic attributes. The candidate must be able to utilize volumetric attribute generation including dip magnitude, coherence, curvature, and horizon/fault tracking for reservoir evaluation. They will lead all aspects of seismic quantitative interpretation workflows, including characterization of reservoir mechanical properties and creation of appropriate inversion products integrated with core and petrophysical analysis for interpretation away from well control.
The candidate will perform both regional and detailed structural and strati graphic mapping, contributing to 2D and 3D seismic interpretation and attribute calculations, while also conducting reservoir quality evaluations and identifying new trends and drilling opportunities. Deep technical expertise in seismic processing is required, including geometry building, signal processing, noise attenuation, refraction statics, full waveform inversion, 5D interpolation, compressive sensing, anisotropic tomography, velocity model building, and depth migration.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Master's degree in Geology or Geophysics.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Fifteen (15) years of experience as Petroleum Geophysicist or closely-related occupation involving petroleum geophysics.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The required fifteen (15) years of experience as Petroleum Geophysicist or closely-related occupation involving petroleum geophysics must have involved reservoir analysis and valuation, structural and strati graphic mapping, 2D and 3D seismic interpretation and calculations, and the use of seismic processing techniques including geometry building, signal processing, noise attenuation, refraction statistics, 5D interpolation, compressive sensing, anisotropic tomography / velocity model building, and depth migration.
