The Financial Assistance Advisor I-Front Counter counsels students and respective family on various types of resources available, eligibility requirements, and university costs. Advisors provide excellent service and a friendly atmosphere while being accountable for following Federal, State and Institutional regulations. The Financial Assistance Advisor I-Front Counter reports to Assistant Director of Financial Assistance.

- Counsel students and families primarily in a front counter environment. Note that counseling services will also be required at times via Zoom, phone, email, etc…
- Assist students and respective family with the financial assistance application process.
- Communicate the types of resources available and the eligibility requirements.
- Review and explain university costs.
- Track all contents on comment screen and provide pre-verification support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Scan and index paperwork into database.
- Verify effectiveness of scan for historical purposes.
- Provide assistance to larger service team on communications, form enhancements, and website content.
- Assist in other areas as needed.
- Manage the Office of Financial Assistance resource center.
- Ensure materials are updated.
- Train student workers.
- Manage communications for visitors.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism, a positive attitude, and patience.
- Ability to proactively problem-solve, multi-task, and organize in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to contribute to and support a team effort.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Bachelor’s Degree.
Required Work ExperienceA minimum of one (1) year professional experience in customer or student services.
Preferred Qualifications- Prior experience with financial assistance or student services, BANNER , and SQL.
- Fluency in Spanish.
