Western Door Federal is hiring a Financial Analyst (Audit) to support our Government contract at Joint Base San Antonio, TX.
This is a full‑time position augmenting the Defense Health Agency J‑8/Direct Care Financial Management (DCFM) Division in the provision of financial management oversight of the Defense Health Program (DHP) appropriation.
OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Analyst (Audit) to join our dynamic team, with a specific focus on Audit and Risk Management Internal Control (RMIC) support. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the integrity of our financial processes and controls, as well as facilitating successful audits and risk management efforts.
Roles and Responsibilities- Collaborate within the Accounting Branch in a supporting role to help monitor the status of audit responses, address auditor inquiries, and furnish the required documentation.
- Assist in the implementation of audit recommendations and improvements to internal controls.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of robust internal controls and risk management practices.
- Monitor and evaluate financial processes and controls to identify areas for improvement and risk mitigation.
- Support the RMIC team in conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements related to financial controls, reporting, and audit readiness.
- Work with stakeholders to implement enhancements and streamline financial processes.
- Prepare and present periodic reports to management regarding audit findings and RMIC initiatives.
- US citizenship is required.
- Active Public Trust clearance.
- BS or BA in a relevant field such as finance or accounting. Five years of experience in lieu of a degree could be considered.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and auditing standards.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and in a team.
- Experience prioritizing tasks, working on multiple assignments, and managing ambiguity.
