Restaurant Controller

We are seeking a high‑impact Controller in San Antonio, Texas to lead accounting operations for a growing portfolio of restaurant / QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) brands. This role is more than just accounting oversight—it’s a strategic leadership position that partners directly with ownership and executive leadership to drive financial clarity, scalability, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Lead day‑to‑day accounting operations across multiple legal entities
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare and consolidate financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow)
• Ensure full compliance with GAAP and applicable state and federal regulations
• Establish and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Partner with external CPAs on tax filings, audits, and year‑end reporting
• Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and consolidations
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial performance
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while improving workflows and efficiency
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
• Support leadership with financial modeling, strategic planning, and ad‑hoc analysis
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll coordination, and general ledger functions

Qualifications – Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
• Proven experience managing accounting for multi‑unit restaurant / QSR / fast‑food operations
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with consolidations and intercompany accounting
• Proficiency in restaurant accounting systems and advanced Excel
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on

Preferred Experience:

• Background in privately held or family‑owned restaurant businesses
• Experience supporting multi‑location operations
• Exposure to growth environments, acquisitions, or entity expansion
