CFO / Controller – Transportation & Logistics – San Antonio, Texas (Local candidates preferred | Relocation considered)
Established trucking and logistics company seeking an experienced CFO / Controller to lead all financial and accounting operations. This is a hands‑on leadership role for a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in transportation, trucking, freight brokerage, or logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of senior‑level accounting and financial management experience, including oversight of multi‑division operations, cash flow management, banking relationships, budgeting, payroll, financial reporting, and operational cost controls.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all accounting and financial functions including: financial statements & month‑end close.
- Accounts payable & receivable.
- Payroll & payroll tax reporting.
- Cash flow forecasting & treasury management.
- Banking & financing relationships.
- Budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
- Manage operational cost controls and improve financial performance.
- Support ownership with strategic planning and business growth initiatives.
- Work closely with operations, dispatch, logistics, and purchasing teams.
- Assist with contract negotiations, vendor management, and risk management.
- 10+ years of experience as a CFO, Controller, VP of Finance, or senior accounting leader.
- Strong background in trucking, transportation, freight brokerage, logistics, or supply chain industries.
- Experience managing multi‑entity or multi‑divisional operations preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, and operational accounting.
- Experience with McLeod or transportation accounting systems.
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Must be located in San Antonio, TX or willing to relocate.
