Mortgage Full Appraisal Review Specialist
The Mortgage Full Appraisal Review Specialist performs comprehensive reviews of residential property appraisal reports across all mortgage products, ensuring valuation accuracy, regulatory compliance, and collateral risk mitigation. The role supports underwriting and credit teams through expert analysis and clear documentation.
Conduct full appraisal reviews for Conventional, FHA, VA, Jumbo
Conduct reviews on HELOC- client's Desktop
Validate appraisal completeness, accuracy, and valuation credibility.
Review comparable sales, adjustments, market analysis, photos, and maps.
Ensure compliance with USPAP, GSE guidelines, FHA 4000.1, VA Handbook, and investor requirements.
Identify red flags for valuation risk or misrepresentation.
Recommend actions such as desk/field reviews or reconsideration of value.
Document findings clearly for underwriters and QC teams.
Identify any health, safety, or habitability deficiencies
Use CU, LCA, AVMs, Encompass, MLS, and public records for validation.
Analyze comparable sale selection, adjustment support, and reconciliation methodology.
Identify material deficiencies, inconsistencies, or red flags (market conditions, condition rating, concessions, declining values, etc.).
Evaluate overall credibility and supportability of the appraised value conclusion
35 years' experience in appraisal review, collateral underwriting, or QC.
Strong knowledge of USPAP, GSE guidelines, FHA/VA standards, and investor overlays.
Proficiency with CU, LCA, AVMs, and mortgage LOS platforms.
Strong analytical, decision-making, and written communication skills.
Detail orientation & documentation discipline
