Position SummarySenior Controller – San Antonio, TX. You will serve as a key member of Standard Aero’s Leadership team, responsible for all financial and management accounting activities for the Military, Helicopter, and Energy business units. You will monitor the financial performance of specific business units/programs, provide comprehensive analysis, and calculate financial performance metrics.
Responsibilities- Perform monthly profitability and variance analysis.
- Develop timely and accurate plant financial forecasts and annual budgets.
- Identify and carry out initiatives to improve profits, reduce costs, evaluate capital investments, and make best use of resources.
- Perform monthly close processes for the plant.
- Review plant customer billing statements for accuracy and terms; work with the Corporate Credit Manager to resolve errors or discrepancies.
- Support Standard Aero’s leadership team in product cost/profitability analysis and management, including standard cost updates and resource usage estimates.
- Plan and manage the inventory cycle process, perform monthly inventory reconciliation, and annual physical inventory.
- Manage the costing process and work process inventory within Standard Aero’s leadership team.
- Lead compliance with US Government Cost Accounting Standards and company internal controls.
- Perform various special projects as assigned.
- Provide support to the Stockton, California site.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- 10+ years of financial planning and analysis, cost accounting, or plant finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Superior operational orientation, business modeling, and analytical skills.
- Strong technology skills within Excel and database tools; working experience with a large ERP system is required.
- Strong experience in a standard costing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and practices.
- Demonstrated initiative and a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Supervisory experience.
- Some travel required.
- Aerospace MRO industry experience.
- Oracle or SAP experience.
- Strong working knowledge of US Government Contracting, FAR, and CAS.
- CPA license.
