Portfolio Manager ​/ Credit Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Credit Analyst / Portfolio Manager to join a community‑focused bank located in South Texas. This role combines rigorous credit analysis with ongoing portfolio oversight – ideal for a finance professional who enjoys both analytical work and relationship management. You will support lending decisions, monitor loan performance, and help maintain a high‑quality loan portfolio that supports local businesses and consumers.

• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, and cash‑flow projections to determine borrower creditworthiness.
• Prepare clear, data‑driven loan memoranda and risk assessments for loan committee presentation.
• Manage and monitor a mixed portfolio of commercial and consumer loans, identifying potential issues early and recommending remediation.
• Collaborate with lenders on new credit requests, renewals, covenant monitoring, and workout strategies when needed.
• Ensure loan documentation and underwriting comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Build strong relationships with customers and internal partners to support timely decision‑making and excellent client service.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field – or equivalent banking experience.
• Proven experience in credit analysis, portfolio management, or commercial lending at a community or regional bank.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills; comfortable reviewing complex financial statements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication – able to prepare concise loan recommendations and present to stakeholders.
• Familiarity with banking regulations, underwriting standards, and risk management best practices.
• High attention to detail, sound judgment, and integrity when evaluating credit risk.
