Heart of Texas is an independent financial services practice of Thrivent in San Antonio, Texas. We take a broad-based approach to helping our clients achieve multiple financial goals. Heart of Texas Associates helps our clients analyze their current situation, develop in-depth financial programs, and help them implement an integrated financial strategy.
This is a full time role that and requires you to be in the office 5 days per week.
** Job Description
** The Paraplanner position supports our Lead Advisors by assisting with the creation of financial plans and learning firm-specific procedures and processes, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality client service. Key responsibilities include preparing detail-oriented financial plans, conducting investment research and analysis, and collaborating with team members. The Paraplanner reports to and is employed/contracted by the Financial Advisor.
** Position Roles/Responsibilities/Accountabilities
*** Prepare and update detail-oriented and accurate financial plans and presentation materials for client meetings
* Gather and enter information into financial planning software and prepare draft financial plans
* Gather and maintain customer suitability information
* Assist in generating and reviewing client portfolio performance reports
* Enter and maintain information across various systems, including CRM system (Salesforce) and financial planning software, ensuring data integrity and up-to-date documentation
* Identify and share ideas to improve workflows, processes, and internal procedures to create positive client experiences
* Complete necessary forms for opening and maintaining accounts
* Handle request for transfers of funds in and out of accounts
* Demonstrate strong organizational skills by managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines while working independently
* Maintain professionalism, discretion, and a client-first mindset when handling sensitive client information
* Other responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Advisor You will be employed/contracted by Heart of Texas.
** Requirements
* ** Securities (6/63, 7/66, or 7/63 & 65) and Life, Health, and Annuity registration required
* Degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred
* Demonstrated customer service orientation/experience, 2+ years preferred
* Extremely strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Technical computer aptitude and knowledge of business tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce) or ability to learn
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain a high quality of work while experiencing frequent interruptions
* Ability to maintain integrity of sensitive/confidential information
* Experience in What If Tax and Money Guide Pro is a plus
** External/Internal Dependencies
*** Must be able to work with all roles of the Heart of Texas Associates team
* Must be able to represent the organization in work with external clients
* Must be able to cultivate and maintain relationships with outside organizations
Thrivent Investment Management is the sponsor for FINRA registration, and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is the sponsor for insurance licensure.
** Compensation and Benefits
*** Salary: $50,000 – $80,000 depending upon experience
* 19 days of PTO (10 PTO + 9 Holidays)
