Purpose

of the Job

As US Financial Director, you will lead all financial planning, control, and compliance activity for Flyttr’s U.S. operations, anchored at our San Antonio site. You will own the full finance function, from FP&A and management reporting through to financial control, tax, and statutory compliance, while also holding oversight of U.S. payroll and its associated regulatory obligations. You will manage the financial governance of U.S. government-funded projects, ensuring full compliance with applicable federal grant and contract requirements, and will hold full financial management responsibility for Flyttr’s commercial arm based in California.

Reporting to the Group CFO, you will serve as the key financial link between the San Antonio site, the California commercial business, and Flyttr’s international headquarters.

Responsibilities Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Lead the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes for U.S. operations, partnering with the Site Director and functional leads.
  • Develop and maintain financial models supporting site fit-out, commissioning, and steady-state manufacturing operations, including capital expenditure planning and ROI analysis.
  • Provide management reporting and financial analysis to the Site Director, Group CFO, and HQ leadership, translating financial performance into actionable business insight.
  • Monitor cost performance against budget, identifying variances, risks, and efficiency opportunities across the site and commercial arm.
  • Act as the business partner supporting and advising the local US based management team on all financial and commercial matters – their trusted advisor.
Financial Control & Accounting
  • Own the U.S. financial control environment, including month-end and year-end close, general ledger integrity, and account reconciliations.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures in line with U.S. GAAP and Group accounting standards.
  • Manage the preparation of the entity annual financial statements and coordinate the external audit, working with external auditors and tax advisors, and the Group CFO.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury/cash management functions for U.S. entities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely consolidation of U.S. financial results into Group reporting, resolving reporting or policy differences with HQ finance.
Tax & Statutory Compliance
  • Manage U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance, including corporate income tax, sales and use tax, and property tax obligations, working with external tax advisors as needed.
  • Oversee transfer pricing arrangements between U.S. entities and Flyttr’s international operations, ensuring compliance with IRS and international tax requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant tax legislation and proactively advise leadership on tax risk, planning opportunities, and regulatory change.
Payroll & Compliance Oversight
  • Hold oversight of U.S. payroll operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across all U.S. employees and locations.
