The Vice President Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis is a hands-on role responsible for building, maintaining, and analyzing the corporate budget, forecast, and profitability models supporting the company’s investment advisor business and related entities. This position is primarily responsible for: (i) the consolidated corporate budget, forecast cycles, and scenario analysis, (ii) the firm’s profitability model and the analysis supporting capital and resource allocation decisions, and (iii) liquidity, covenant, and leverage visibility through the corporate cash forecast and compliance projections.
Working alongside and within the corporate accounting and reporting team, this role turns financial information into forward-looking insight, giving leadership a trusted view of profitability, liquidity, leverage, and capital deployment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Planning, Forecasting and Scenario Modeling
- Own theconsolidatedthree-year corporate budget rollup and the quarterly and periodic forecast cycles, including tracking forecast accuracy and explaining material variances to improve reliability over time.
- Explain and summarize changes between forecast versions,identifying the assumptions and drivers behind each revision and the implications for the forward outlook.
- Coordinate with the Portfolio Management Analytics team to ingest and review corporate fee and investment forecast outputs. Develop and review holistically those areas not covered by their models.
- Maintain and update the corporate cash forecast on a weekly basis.
- Prepare covenant and leverage projections, ensuring real-time information isincorporatedand risks are surfaced ona timely basis.
Profitability, Performance and Decision Support
- Own and enhance the firm’s profitability model, including allocation methodologies and contribution margin reporting by operating segment, business unit, and leader.
- Develop scenario and sensitivity capabilities supporting multi-year views and long-range planning.
- Develop the analysis needed to evaluate capital spend and expected returns in support of resource allocation decisions and their operating-model implications.
- Analyze actual results in parallel with the monthly and quarterly close, partnering with the accounting and reporting team on variance explanations and ensuring management reporting reconciles to GAAP results.
- Analyze investment performance and coordinate with the investment accounting function on related reporting and analytics.
Data, Systems and FP&A Operations
- Leverage and refine the shared data foundationmaintainedwithin the team, including account mapping, fund tagging, business unit mapping, andadditionaldimensionsrequiredfor modeling.
- Participate in enterprise performance management (EPM) and other financial system implementations and enhancements, including requirements definition, model and report design, data mapping, testing, and adoption, to improve planning, forecasting, and reporting capabilities.
