Under minimal supervision, the MRI Technologist performs complex diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. Produces high quality diagnostic images while providing excellent patient care. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of MRI

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associate Degree in Allied Health or Bachelor's Degree and certification in another clinical imaging field

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

• 6 months in Magnetic Resonance Imaging with supervised clinical experience
• Possesses working knowledge of cross section anatomy and MR pathology

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 2-5 years in MRI

• Possession of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology or ARMRIT registry eligible according to ACR guidelines
• Must be registered as an MR Technologist within one year post graduation of accredited school
• If registered with ARRT in ionizing radiation, must possess current Texas Medical Board (TMB) license
• ARRT in MRI (preferred)

Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
