Shift Information

Full time working 8-hour shifts, rotating day shifts. Periodic weekends required.

What You Will Do

Join a progressive community hospital where pharmacists are welcomed, supported, and valued as an integral part of the healthcare team. This is an ideal opportunity for pharmacists from diverse practice settings to experience a rewarding hospital career. The staff pharmacist evaluates providers’ medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, frequency, route of administration and potential allergies and clinical interactions. The staff pharmacist makes recommendations for therapy changes to the provider as appropriate and/or manages therapies in accordance with medical staff approved pharmacy management protocols.

The staff pharmacist checks all medications that are dispensed by the pharmacy and ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding medications. The staff pharmacist participates as a critical member of the clinical team and practices and promotes safe medication management.

Required Education

Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree or PharmD

Preferred Education

Residency Trained

Preferred Skills

Adept at Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint, etc

Required Licensure/Registration Certification

Licensed Pharmacist with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy

Preferred Licensure/Registration Certification

Sterile IV Compounding Certification

Preferred Experience
  • One year experience working as a pharmacist
  • Hospital pharmacy experience
