Referral Coordinator

• Role: Referral Coordinator - Specialty Neurosurgery
• Employment Type:Full Time 5 Days – 8 Hours

One of our clients is hiring for a healthcare operations professional to support referral coordination, authorizations, and outpatient department workflows. This role plays a critical part in patient access, financial clearance, and communication across clinics, providers, and external partners.

• Obtain authorizations for clinic visits, procedures, and minor surgeries
• Accurately enter and maintain referral and authorization data
• Coordinate patient appointments and respond to inbound calls
• Handle patient payments, daily balancing, and payment arrangements
• Resolve authorization, scheduling, and billing issues with patients
• Coordinate with PCP offices, imaging facilities, and internal departments
• Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, staff, and leadership
• Support compliance with Joint Commission standards and patient safety goals
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict confidentiality
• Promote service excellence and patient satisfaction

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 2+ years of experience in a medical office or patient access role
• Experience with medical billing, collections, and reimbursement
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
• Experience with PCs, scanners, fax systems, and multi-line phone systems
