POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides direct patient education to Organ Transplant patients and assists in developing patient education material. Serves as a clinical expert, educator, quality assurance nurse and outcome measure coordinator for assigned specialty. Functions in a team environment to provide support to clinical practice.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
BSN is required. Masters degree is preferred. A national certification is required within 1 year of employment in the Transplant Program. Minimum of five years of full-time nursing experience with at least two years in related nursing specialty is required. Demonstration of experience in curriculum development and implementation of adult learning principles is preferred.
LICENSURE
State of Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse is required. Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support and Health Care Provider card is required.
