We started out as a small operation in California. In May 1969, we acquired four hospitals, additional care facilities, and real estate for future development. Over the years, we have grown tremendously in size, scope, and capability, building homes in new markets and curating those homes to provide a compassionate environment for those entrusting us with their care.

• The Certified Surgical Technologist provides direct and indirect technical care to surgical/obstetric patients across the age spectrum, facilitating the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. The role follows established practices and standards, supports the mission statement, policies, and procedures of the Baptist Health System, and completes established competencies within the designated introductory period.

• MINIMUM EDUCATION:
  
  High‑school graduate and graduate of a Department of Education (DOE) or Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) accredited surgical technology program.
• PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  
  1 year as a Surgical or OB Technologist in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
• REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: BHS accepts certifications from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA);
  Certified Surgical Technologist (CST);
  National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); or Technician in Surgery–Certified (TS‑C).
• REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS:
  Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
