Job DescriptionThe CST First Assistant acts as a patient advocate during the perioperative period by assisting in implementing a plan to protect the patient from injury, wrong site surgery, infection and retained instruments. Assists the team in coordinating the patient’s care between providers and hospital staff. Supports the patient’s physical and emotional needs while assisting the surgeon. Ensures all supplies, implants and instruments are available for the procedure.
ShiftInformation
The position is full time, working M-F either five 8‑hour shifts or four 10‑hour shifts. Call required.

Graduate of an accredited First Assistant Program and Certification from an accredited Surgical Technology Program.
Required Skills- Basic computer keyboard skills
- Meditech proficiency
- Certification as a First Assistant
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist
- Basic Life Support
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
2 years as a CST.
Preferred ExperienceOne or more years as a CST, 1 or more years as a Certified First Assistant.
