Job SummaryWe are searching for a Medical Assistant (Bilingual) to support physicians in physical examinations and nursing treatments. The Medical Assistant will follow documented orders, adhere to departmental policies, and maintain positive relationships with patients and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities- Intake – collect patient history, vital signs, symptoms and document in the medical record.
- Administer patient immunizations following clinical protocols.
- Administer medications and treatments ordered by the provider.
- Check the treatment room for equipment function and stock supplies.
- Perform lab duties: daily quality checks, specimen processing, result documentation, and monthly log submissions.
- Travel to other Centro del Barrio sites to carry out duties.
- Assist the provider in specialized examinations and procedures.
- Maintain supply room inventory and assist the LVN Nurse Supervisor.
- Perform venipuncture as ordered by the provider.
- Adhere to infection control, hazardous materials, and safety policies.
- Demonstrate competence with all patients.
- Participate in the agency’s Quality Improvement Program.
- Perform other duties as required.
- High School diploma or equivalent and completion of a Medical Assisting Program.
- One year of experience in a clinic or hospital setting preferred.
- Must be able to perform essential functions of the position.
- Must meet attendance requirements.
- Must not pose a threat to health or safety of others.
- Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted.
- Must deliver excellent customer service both internally and externally.
