Flagship Health is seeking a highly motivated and patient‑focused Medical Assistant (MA) to support our providers in delivering high-quality, value-based primary care. This position works closely and consistently with midlevel providers (NP/PA) and Physicians (MD/DO) to support clinical operations, preventive care initiatives, and quality performance.
Key Responsibilities Provider & Clinical Support- Work directly alongside providers daily to support patient care and visit efficiency.
- Prepare patients for examination by obtaining and documenting vitals, medical histories, medication reconciliation, and screening tools.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
- Scribe or document in the EHR as directed to ensure accurate and complete visit notes.
- Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and perform point‑of‑care testing per standing orders and scope of practice.
- Assist in preparing and executing Annual Wellness Visits in accordance with CMS guidelines and Flagship Health protocols.
- Ensure required screenings, assessments, and documentation elements are completed.
- Support preventive care planning and patient education.
- Assist in triaging acute patient calls and walk‑ins by gathering clinical information and escalating appropriately to providers.
- Document triage interactions accurately and ensure timely follow‑up.
- Assist with administrative tasks and phone calls.
- Support same‑day visit workflows to maintain provider productivity and patient satisfaction.
- Assist with identifying and closing care gaps related to HEDIS and other quality measures.
- Coordinate labs, referrals, screenings, and immunizations to support performance metrics.
- Ensure accurate documentation to support value‑based care reporting and compliance.
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure supplies are stocked and compliant with safety standards.
- Coordinate follow‑up appointments, referrals, and patient instructions.
- Maintain clear communication with front desk, clinical staff, and leadership to optimize daily clinic flow.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
- Follow Flagship Health policies, SOPs, and documentation standards.
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent preferred).
- BLS/CPR certification (required).
- Bilingual a must.
- Experience in primary care or value‑based care preferred.
- Familiarity with Annual Wellness Visits (AWVs) and quality metrics is a plus.
- Strong EHR documentation skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work closely with providers in a team‑based care model.
