Medical Assistant – Quantum Pain and Orthopedic
Quantum Pain and Orthopedic is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team and support efficient clinic operations and patient care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Rooms patients consistent with clinic needs while determining and documenting chief complaint and reason for visit, vital signs, medication list, allergies, smoking history and other information as required by clinic.
- Documents patient vitals and keeps medical records up to date.
- Communicates and documents any status updates and changes regarding patient and treatment plan.
- Maintains patient charts and ensures completeness and accuracy of patients’ forms.
- Keeps patients informed of delays and progress of clinical appointments.
- Provides administrative support and performs routine clerical tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
- Ensures exam rooms are prepared and stocked with adequate medical supplies and cleans rooms appropriately between patients.
- Maintains and responds to e‑mails, telephone calls and inquiries.
- Takes telephone messages and provides feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.
- Assists team and uses downtime efficiently.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
- Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories.
- Knowledge of patient evaluation and triage procedures.
- Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols.
- Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.
- Ability to maintain calendars and schedule appointments.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Ability to adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High School diploma or GED.
- One (1) year of experience in a clinical setting.
- Choice of 3 Medical Plans.
