POSITION SUMMARY
The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care to patients, completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period, and performs other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsMINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited AMA Respiratory Care Program
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Some experience in respiratory care or related area
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current RCP State of Texas License, possession of current CRT or RRT Certification from NBRC (renewal required every 5 years unless grandfathered prior to July 1, 2002)
REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role.
AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role if covering Pedi.
AHA NRP must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role if covering NICU.
