Recreation Therapist

This is a contract, on-site role for a Recreation Therapist based in the San Antonio, Texas Metropolitan Area. The Recreation Therapist will design and implement recreational and therapeutic activities to support clients in achieving their treatment goals. Responsibilities include using creative and innovative techniques like art therapy, preparing and documenting progress notes, and tailoring activities to address the emotional, mental, and behavioral needs of youth.

Collaborating with other team members and ensuring programs are aligned with individual treatment plans is essential to this role.

• Proficiency in Recreation and Therapeutic Recreation to design and lead effective programs tailored to client needs
• CTRS or TRS/TXC
• Experience with documenting and maintaining accurate Progress Notes as part of treatment plans
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, families, and team members
• Capacity to adapt to dynamic environments and the ability to motivate individuals during therapeutic activities
• Previous experience working with youth-focused mental health or behavioral programs is preferred
