About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced Senior Catering Manager to oversee all catering operations for events in and around George . This key role involves managing client relationships, coordinating event logistics, supervising catering staff, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional food and service. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of the hospitality industry, and a proven track record in event management and client satisfaction.
You will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our client's reputation for excellence in catering services across the Western Cape.
- Manage all aspects of catering events, from initial client consultation and proposal development to execution and post-event follow-up.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and exceeding expectations for their events.
- Supervise, train, and schedule catering staff, ensuring professional service delivery and adherence to company standards.
- Oversee menu planning and beverage selections in collaboration with the culinary team, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage event budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability for all catered functions.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations in all aspects of catering operations.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in event management , hospitality, or catering management.
- Proven experience in client relationship management and sales within the catering or hospitality sector.
- Strong understanding of food and beverage operations, menu planning, and event logistics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and work effectively under pressure.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the George region and surrounding areas as needed.
