Mission Hires is seeking an organized, detail-oriented HR Coordinator on behalf of a client company. This role provides essential HR Shared Services support across onboarding, pre-employment administration, HCM system updates, employee records, background checks, drug screens, benefits administration, and general HR operations. The ideal candidate brings hands-on HR coordination experience, strong Workday or similar HCM system skills, sound judgment, and a demonstrated ability to handle sensitive employee information confidentially.
How You'll Contribute
- Support onboarding activities, including pre-employment requirements, offer letters, and employee system profile setup.
- Review new-hire paperwork and forms for completeness and accuracy, and process documentation accordingly.
- Process employment verifications, background checks, and drug screens.
- Complete E-Verify employment eligibility checks using information from Form I-9.
- Maintain accurate applicant and employee tracking records, including new-hire flow logs, coaching and review documentation, warnings, terminations, and wage adjustments.
- Maintain electronic and, where applicable, hard-copy employee files.
- Protect confidential employee information, including drug screen results, HIPAA-restricted information, and disciplinary records.
- Assist with preparing HR-related statistical reports and tracking data.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to HR team members as needed.
- Respond to telephone inquiries related to employee benefits and company policies and procedures, escalating questions when appropriate.
- Track benefit eligibility status and update payroll deduction records when eligibility requirements are met.
- Respond to unemployment claims and complete additional HR assignments as needed.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3–4 years of experience in an HR Coordinator, HR Administrative, or similar HR operations role.
- Experience using an HCM system;
Workday experience is preferred. - Hands-on experience supporting onboarding and pre-employment processes.
- Experience processing background checks and drug screens.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
- Strong technology skills and comfort working across HR systems and digital records.
