Description

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to guide people operations for a growing fuel distribution organization in San Antonio, Texas. This role serves as the senior HR leader, shaping practical programs and policies that support expansion, strengthen compliance, and improve the employee experience. The position calls for someone who can advise leadership on long-term workforce needs while also managing day-to-day HR responsibilities with accuracy and care.

Responsibilities:

- Direct the full scope of human resources activities, ensuring daily operations align with organizational goals and workforce needs.

- Create and refine HR policies, procedures, and programs that can support continued growth and a changing business environment.

- Advise company leadership on workforce planning, organizational development, and people-related strategies that strengthen the business.

- Manage employee relations matters with professionalism, sound judgment, and a consistent focus on fair and respectful outcomes.

- Oversee payroll administration and confirm employees are paid accurately and on schedule.

- Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, while updating practices as regulations change.

- Administer benefits, leave programs, and workplace accommodations, while communicating clearly with employees about available resources.

- Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, and employee development efforts to build a strong and engaged workforce.

- Support employee integration and people processes tied to acquisitions, expansion efforts, and other organizational changes.

- Partner with leadership to strengthen engagement, retention, and a workplace culture that balances employee support with business priorities.

Requirements

- At least five years of progressive human resources experience across multiple functional areas.

- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required.

- Prior success operating as the primary HR lead or managing a small HR team.

- Demonstrated ability to build scalable HR practices in a growing or fast-changing organization.

- Experience supporting acquisitions, expansion initiatives, or broader organizational change is strongly preferred.

- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, employee relations, leave administration, and general HR best practices.

- Hands-on payroll administration experience is required.

- A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline is preferred; HR certification is a plus.
