Platform Engineer

Join our mission‑driven, employee‑focused services and solutions company headquartered in Reston, VA. We support Civilian, Defense and Intelligence Community customers across the country and around the globe. We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join our high‑performing team on a dynamic program.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain cloud‑based and hybrid infrastructure solutions in AWS environments.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform, Ansible or similar tools.
- Support deployment and management of containerized applications using Kubernetes or similar technologies.
- Contribute to the development of custom software components and integration of open‑source solutions.
- Apply software engineering best practices across build, deployment and operations life cycles.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement secure, automated and repeatable pipelines (Git Lab CI/CD or Jenkins).
- Troubleshoot complex system issues across cloud, network and platform layers.
- Work within Agile development frameworks to support rapid iteration, feedback and continuous delivery.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives that increase reliability, maintainability and performance of mission systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Mid‑level: 5‑8 years of relevant experience;
Senior‑level: 9‑13 years; SME‑level: 14+ years. - 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering or Software Development (Python, Go or similar).
- Experience developing and deploying infrastructure in AWS.
- Proficient with Linux systems administration, networking and shell scripting (Bash/Shell).
- Experience with Kubernetes or related container‑orchestration technologies.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with attention to detail and reliability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- US citizenship with an active Secret clearance; acceptance of Top Secret, TS/SCI or TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
- Must obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of hire.
- Must be available to work on‑site 4‑5 days per week; flexibility to align with customer needs.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and automated build pipelines (Git Lab CI, Travis‑CI, Jenkins).
- Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and associated tools (JIRA, Confluence, Git Hub/Git Lab).
- Experience with virtualization or storage platforms (VMware, oVirt, Proxmox, Ceph, Rook, Longhorn).
- Familiarity with Big Data ecosystems (Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR).
- DoD 8140 / 8570 IAT Level II certification or equivalent preferred.
Pay Range: $49,996.80 – $. Pay ranges are a general guideline and not intended as a guaranteed or implied final compensation. Determination of official compensation or salary will depend on level, responsibilities, location and experience.
