Position

Summary

The Director, Enterprise Technology Governance is an executive responsible for defining, implementing, and sustaining the enterprise technology governance framework. This role ensures that all technology investments, policies, and operations align with business strategy, comply with regulatory requirements, and deliver measurable value.

Serving as both a strategic advisor and enterprise governance leader, the Director oversees IT general controls, EIT regulatory compliance, risk compliance management, and the Business Relationship Management (BRM) function. The position bridges business strategy and technology execution, ensuring that all initiatives are strategic, secure, fiscally responsible, and transparent.

The Director, Enterprise Technology Governance ensures that all technology initiatives are strategically aligned, risk-aware, and accountable. This role safeguards the enterprise s reputation and assets while enabling efficient, transparent decision-making and sustainable innovation. By embedding governance discipline and performance management, the Director strengthens enterprise resilience, compliance posture, and the organization s ability to achieve its long-term vision in accordance with established enterprise and technology strategies.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Governance Framework & Strategy
Develop, implement, and continuously enhance the Enterprise Technology Governance Framework and governance charter.
Define technology governance principles, decision rights, and accountability structures across all enterprise domains.
Integrate governance into enterprise planning cycles, linking technology strategy, budgeting, and portfolio management.

Risk Management & Compliance
Oversee IT risk identification, assessment, and mitigation in partnership with Information Security, Risk, and Audit teams.
Ensure compliance with frameworks such as SOX, ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, ITIL, and other relevant industry standards.
Monitor regulatory and compliance changes, ensuring timely updates to policies and controls.

Technology Investment & Portfolio Governance
Develop and lead a technology portfolio governance model to manage prioritization, funding, and performance of technology initiatives.
Establish standardized processes for project evaluation, approval, and value tracking through business cases, risk analyses, and other assessments as needed.
Oversee ongoing project portfolio performance reviews, ensuring accountability for outcomes.

Business Relationship Management (BRM) & Engagement
Lead the Business Relationship Management (BRM) function to strengthen alignment between IT and business units.
Translate business strategies into actionable IT capabilities and ensure IT roadmaps reflect business priorities.
Develop communication channels and engagement frameworks to enhance stakeholder trust and collaboration.

Policies, Standards, and Controls
Establish and maintain enterprise-wide technology policies, standards, and procedures.
Ensure all policies align with organizational objectives, compliance requirements, and operational risk thresholds.
Oversee policy enforcement, control monitoring, and periodic effectiveness reviews.

Performance Management & Reporting
Define and manage governance performance metrics, dashboards, and KPIs.
Report governance, compliance, and risk performance to executive leadership and provide actionable insights to improve maturity and organizational resilience.
Identify trends and emerging risks through data analysis to inform strategic planning and decision-making.

Capability Building
Drive governance maturity assessments and develop multi-year roadmaps for capability enhancement.
Lead governance and compliance training programs across technology and business teams.
Mentor governance professionals and build succession readiness within the function while promoting a culture of accountability, ethical leadership, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Skills Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
  • Extensive years of progressive IT leadership experience, with strong exposure to governance, compliance, or risk management functions.
  • Proven track record of developing and leading enterprise-level governance and control frameworks.
  • Deep knowledge of ITGC, audit, and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, NIST, ISO).
